At Rox of Hope, we recognize that financial barriers often determine educational destinies—but they don’t have to. Our Black Education Empowerment Fund (B.E.E.F.) Scholarship represents more than financial assistance; it’s an investment in the future leaders, innovators, and changemakers of tomorrow.
Currently supporting Black students at Georgian College’s Orillia Campus, this scholarship addresses the critical gap between academic potential and financial reality. We specifically support students who demonstrate both financial need and academic commitment, requiring a minimum 70% average that reflects our belief in excellence alongside equity.
Since inception, we have proudly awarded 4 scholarships totaling over $4,000 to exceptional students, including mature women courageously returning to education to transform their futures. As well as smaller bursaries to international students. Each recipient represents not just individual achievement, but generational change—breaking cycles and creating new possibilities for their families and communities.
The heartfelt letters of gratitude we receive remind us why this work matters. These aren’t just scholarships; they’re catalysts for dreams that might otherwise remain unrealized.
What distinguishes our scholarship program is our comprehensive approach. Recipients don’t just receive funding—they gain access to:
Our strategic partnership with Georgian College demonstrates institutional commitment to diversity and inclusion. This collaboration ensures seamless application processes, direct student support, and measurable impact within our local educational ecosystem.
As we expand this program, we’re not just increasing scholarship numbers—we’re building a pipeline of Black excellence in post-secondary education and exploring partnerships with additional institutions to broaden our regional impact. Each scholarship awarded today creates a ripple effect of inspiration and possibility for future students.
The B.E.E.F. Scholarship represents our unwavering commitment to ensuring that every capable student has the opportunity to pursue their educational dreams, regardless of their financial circumstances.
